Who is Ellie Maud, the founder of Brighton Pilates?

You may or may not know Pilates and perhaps even Brighton Pilates, but how well do you know our founder, Ellie Maud? Let’s introduce you to a little more about the renowned Pilates instructor who has helped build up this business.

Ellie has been passionate about Pilates since she was young, although her route to the Pilates method wasn’t a direct one; it was actually her love of dance that helped bring along her appreciation for the finest aspects of movement and exercise.

Initially using Pilates to supplement her dance training at Roehampton University, Ellie realised that she had an increasing interest in teaching and the more scientific elements of dance and movement. It should be no great surprise, then, that these passions led her to set up her own business providing private classes in Pilates after completing her Pilates teacher training at Body Control Pilates in 2008.

What can you expect when you join Ellie for a Pilates class?

Ellie later went on to complete her Comprehensive Classical Pilates training in London in 2017. Since then, she has brought all her accumulated training and expertise to bear in the delivery of classes designed to help learners at various levels get the best out of their Pilates practice.

All of Brighton Pilates’ live classes take place at Yellowave right on the beach.

Available classes right now include flowing group mat classes that will work your body from head to toe, while helping to improve your balance and sense of connection with your core and breath. Or perhaps you would be more interested in taking part in a private studio class in a full Classical Studio on Portland Road? 1:1 and 1:2 classes are available, and soon, small group reformer classes.

One of Ellie’s biggest and most popular services, however, is her on-demand online Pilates platform. The reasons for this are clear: at a time when many of us might have living and working circumstances that are very different to the situation even prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, having unlimited online access to the Brighton area’s best Pilates classes is a great boon to learners of a broad range of ages and abilities.

When, then, you are on the lookout for the most suitable Brighton Pilates studio offering classes that are tailored to your needs and aspirations when it comes to Pilates, you might have little need to look anywhere else. If you have any questions about the suitability of our classes or any of the other ways in which your requirements might be met by us, please do not hesitate to email ellie@brightonpilates.co.uk or call +44 7950 304 071.
