This book is partly a memoir but also a biography and it talks about his Philosophies, as well as his very interesting life story. Joseph Pilates is man who created an exercise regimen which is now practiced by more than 10 million people world wide. In the process of him creating this incredible exercise programme, he also completely reinvented himself. This book is written by John Howard Steel who has a unique perspective on Joseph Pilates because he was his student, friend and confidant. John Steel’s account is crucial to the survival of the Pilates Method.

3. The Complete Book Of Pilates For Men by Daniel Lyon Jr.

I love this book, and i’m not a man however I find this book a great resource. It’s a lifetime plan for strength, power and peak performance… and we all want some of that, right! It’s a great resource for everyone, from beginners to professional athletes. What I like about this book is it walks you through the mat exercises, but, also gives you some of the reformer to mat exercises too. So, this is real good take away book to do your mat Pilates properly, at home!
